The Colorado Supreme Court has ruled that Donald Trump will be barred from the state’s 2024 Republican primary ballot, due to his involvement in the insurrection at the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021. The ruling comes as a result of a measure introduced by Colorado’s independent Secretary of State, Jena Griswold, which was future-proofed to prevent Trump from having his name included on the ballot. The Supreme Court decided unanimously that the action taken by Secretary Griswold was valid, and that it did not violate any constitutional rights or state laws.
